THE OPPORTUNITY Michelin has an immediate opening for an Site Energy Performance Manager who provides support and direction to meet the site’s CO2 and energy objectives. This position works normal business hours Monday-Friday but supports a team that rotates shifts 24 hours-7 days a week. This opportunity is with our tire production facility plant in Covington, GA.  Located just outside of Atlanta, GA, the Covington site has been an integral part of that community since 1999. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Define

  • Have a roadmap of energy, CO2 and water performance over the , in line with Michelin objectives and ambitions, and ensure that it is updated annually and presented to the site management team.
  • Have a validated Energy, CO2 and Water strategic plan on the horizon of the Qualitative Strategic Plan (5 years)
  • Have annual Water and Energy targets for a site and activities network, integrated into the annual plan.

Measure:

  • Guarantees the reliability of the basic data necessary for the calculations of the Energy and Water indicators
  • Calculate business and technical performance indicators for water and energy
  • Establish consumption standards by activity and by type of equipment (Modelling of factory flows and consumption levels).
  • Conduct energy & water self-diagnostics
  • Ensures that the site's fluid flow diagram exists, is reliable, and is up to date.
  • Ensures that water & energy meters exist and that the associated digitization of water & energy performance is in place and delivers progress.

Analyze:

  • Analyze and communicate energy and water indicator
  • Assist the various activities of the site to improve their water and energy consumption
  • Participate in the energy and water diagnostics of your site
  • Analyze the relevance of energy and water maintenance plans
  • Participate in energy and water diagnostics within the perimeter of the Energy and Water Expert's area

Improve:

  • Applying Energy and Water Good Practices
  • Optimize costs by improving its energy and water performance.
  • Conduct documented feedback enriching the knowledge of the entire energy and water network as well as the designers of the new installations
  • Participate in the optimization of contracts (supply, transformation and maintenance, water treatment, participation in exchanges with Fluids buyers)
  • Lead the follow-up of the implementation of the annual actions resulting from the site's roadmap
  • Participate in the various energy and water sharing networks

Control:

  • Animation of progress involving all actors (operators, maintainer, technicians, managers, EP Managers) through steering groups, production, awareness campaigns ...
  • Update the Lean Energy and Water approach on its website

 

WHAT WILL YOU BRING:

  • A willingness to work in an industrial plant environment (Monday-Friday on day shift) and must be available to support emergency incident response and work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Bachelors degree in an technical field (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering) preferred.
  • At least 2 years experience with overall energy planning, utilities and CO2 management and cost reduction.
  • Strong analytical, presentation and planning/organization skills.
  • Self-motivated; Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while leading competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Works cooperatively with others to solve problems and willingly helps others when assistance is needed.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
