Mission:

Leads projects from design to commissioning in a rubber manufacturing plant.


Main assignment in the 3 years horizon:

Robotics cell design and integration for several palletizing and de-palletizing applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs the machinery for the electrical and automation portion: architecture, network, technologies…
  • Develop electrical diagrams
  • Develop automation programs
  • Defines requests for quotes, selects best vendors
  • Tracks manufacturing
  • Debugs programs on simulator (when applicable)
  • Supervises electrical installation contractors, updates diagram as needed
  • Performs I/O tests
  • Tests, debugs and validates machine programs
  • Supervises drafters and automation contractors (when applicable)
  • Leads capital investment projects for the engineering portion
  • Coordinates engineering resources (often international team): mechanical, electrical, IT
  • Provides cost estimate during the design phase
  • Tracks and re-forecasts costs once project is approved
  • Tracks and resolves non conforms during the different project phase
  • Documents lessons learned through the project

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering
  • Electrical design: SEE electrical
  • Automation programming:  RS Logix
  • Industrial equipment design and installation
  • At least 5 years of Engineering and/or Maintenance Experience
  • Strong communication skills. Both written and verbal
  • Robot and vision system programing is a plus
  • Rubber manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Experience in an international environment is a plus
