Working in marketing, sales and communication at Michelin

Our marketing and sales force teams liaise directly with the Michelin Group's customers, in our offices and in the field, to develop and implement the Group's sales policy. The communication team's role is to protect and develop Michelin's reputation and the image of the brands and their products and services, and help achieve our objectives.

I have been working with Michelin for the last nine years, six of which have been in Sales & Marketing and three years in the Personnel department.

My Key learning’s including:

  1. In the long run, it is better to be as transparent and honest as possible, with people
  2. Team spirit and people empowerment is a much better bet than close control of operations
  3. Michelin people processes are very much world class, especially the concept of career management which is very much in favor of the development of the employee.
